Through research, years of travel experience and client feedback, we offer what we consider the highlights of each region, but there a many choices of where to stay and even for how long. There are also seasonal variations and animal migrations. Our recommendations are based on our personal site inspections, or those of our local offices, so you can be assured that we know from first hand experience exactly where you are staying and what you can expect.

As an estimate of cost, you can expect an itinerary using moderate properties, which would be the larger lodges and camps accessed via scheduled flights, starting at around $450 - $550 per person per night (East Africa/South Africa). The smaller, more intimate camps in more remote areas (South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia) start at $700 per person per night. The ultimate properties start at $1000+ per person, per night. Since flexibility is the key to planning your trip, the final cost can fall anywhere in between. For example, we can select a small guesthouse in Cape Town and combine that with a luxury bush camp in Botswana to maximize the money spent on this trip of a lifetime.

Once we have had a chance to discuss with you your preferred interests, we will prepare your personal itinerary which will narrow down the choices and give you an estimate of cost for everything and provide web sites to the properties we recommend, so you can see for yourself how wonderful our choices are.

We recommend an independent itinerary, which means you are traveling in between the highlight areas by yourselves, but are met and assisted by our local representatives at every point of your trip, so you are never really alone. We are partnered with some of the most respected operators, lodges and camps in all of our destinations and these long-term relationships assure excellent value and in-country assistance to care for your every need while in Africa.

Depending on your interests, you include walking safaris, horseback safaris (for experienced riders), canoe safaris, white water rafting, fishing, micro-lights, balloon safaris, mekoros, luxury trains, helicopter rides - the sky really is the limit. You tell us what you would like to do, and we will make sure it is included.

If you are on your Honeymoon, we will make sure you are in the most romantic camps with the best service. If you are bringing your family, we will direct you to the many child friendly and if necessary, malaria-free areas. While on your game drives, you are either joining other guests at the safari camps, or in some cases, traveling with your exclusive private driver guide in your own vehicle.

In some destinations (Botswana and Namibia) where individual transfers can be expensive, there are many small group departures available on request, which are good for single travelers.
